Süddeutsches Damespiel ia a variant of German Checkers, which is mostly played in the south of Germany; e.g. Bavaria, Württemberg and Baden. The game was described in English books as Central-South German Checkers. The game was first described in ARCHIV DER SPIELE, Berlin 1819: "Deutsches Damspiel.

The game has almost the same rules as German Checkers. There is just one difference, which might have been created to reduce the number of draws:

  • The crowned piece known as Dame (i.e. "lady") has to stop at the square immediately behind the last captured piece.
